It's About Time

I have been slacking on my blogging, but that is it. One area of my life is not so bad... when considering what I have been up to in my online time. I finally created by TpT store!

My first upload are directions and a recording sheet for my Mystery Reader listening center. I made these to use with the books I randomly make our staff members read and record on my old iPhone. Click HERE to link to my store and get this little gem for your self.

BONUS: Since it is my first item, it's free!

Candles and Car Batteries

Well, I have survived the first full week of school. A few bumps and bruises along the way, but I think I might have the most awesome class in the entire school (only a little biased). However, I thought this three day weekend might never come.

On the second day of school my car wouldn't start. Boy was sweet enough to pick me up and take me to school after him only getting off work four hours earlier. Turns out my battery had cracked and was leaking battery acid.... so, that was fun. Oh, and then on day four. I wake up with no power. Why? I still have no idea, but I did somehow manage to stab myself in the eye while trying to put my contacts in by candle light.

Luckily, things at school have run much more smoothly. We have spent a lot of time these past few days learning about each other, making new friends, and deciding upon our class rules. We started by reading No David and David goes to school and talking about what rules David might be breaking and why we need rules. Then we listed every rule we might ever need. Finally, we started grouping our common rules and changed them to use more positive language. This is what we they have come up with.

It was funny. They kept saying "Well, if you pay attention, you'll know you aren't supposed to chew gum in class because the teacher will tell you" or "If you're paying attention you won't run in the hall."

So, that's it everyone.
The only rule you need to follow.
Pay attention.

Crackterest

On Friday my teaching partner walked into my room and asked me what crafty thing I was working on next... and then she called me an overachiever. :(

Luckily, I took it as a compliment.  She has two small children that she spends most of her spare time wrangling, and me, well I drink... and craft. (Thanks crackterest pinterest.) I am eagerly anticipating every Monday Made It but at the moment have completely blown all of my expenditure funds on tpt and dollar store buys. So, instead of crafting this evening I worked on my first week lesson plans. Something I said I wasn't going to do until Tuesday. WEll... they're done.
Some of these activities came from BabblingAbby's Super in Second pack over at The Inspired Apple and Amy Lemons' Let's Get Started Math Pack at Step into 2nd.

Maybe I will throw a little something quick together for Monday Made It.... or maybe I will go Sunday Funday with boy, for some bluegrass and bloody marys. Oh, the dilemma....
